MCAP to upskill Indian graduates & freshers with latest in-demand IT skills

August 05, 2021: Millionlights University, a UK based EdTech company, launched its innovative Career Assistance Program (MCAP) in India. MCAP is a focused upskilling program that aims to “manufacture” cohorts trained in the latest in-demand Microsoft and software development skills. Miilionlights have been successfully organising similar bootcamps in the UK since 2019.

MCAP is an 8-week online course that will train freshers and graduates with the latest software development and in-demand IT skills. While its first batch is the Microsoft Cloud Engineering course, in the future the company plans to include courses in DevOps, JAVA, .NET, Data Science, Data Analytics, etc. The intensive course delivered on a cloud platform will be bridging the much-spoken gap between the country’s educated and employable population. MCAP’s role doesn’t just end at training but will also assist learners in bagging an assured placement with leading IT companies through Millionlights.

“It has been estimated that by 2030, 50 million people will be required for the technical jobs, few jobs which don’t even exist today but will be in demand then. Appropriate and latest skills shortage is impacting approx. 40% of the businesses today. Millionlights’ MCAP is a learner-centric model that aims at ensuring that this demand and shortage gets addressed. MCAP will assist candidates in getting industry skills and landing themselves a lucrative job via Millionlights,” said Mr Shwetank Updhayaya India CEO, Millionlights.

Promoting women learners

In its first batch of MCAP, the company has decided to award Educational Scholarships to women learners. “In line with government’s efforts, we at Millionlights have decided to offer scholarships to women learners in our first batch by waiving off 85% of their fees,” added Shwetank.

The overall learning process is a mix of hardcore technical skills and communication skills. Experienced industry professionals are handpicked to introduce and familiarise candidates with technical knowledge in an interactive way. The course will provide candidates access to faculty lectures, quizzes & assignments, regular doubt clearing Q&A sessions, application projects and live online teaching. Moderated discussion sessions will be organised regularly to provide candidates with an opportunity to improve on their communication skills and get a firm foot-hold on the concepts learnt.

“We have been assisting talent in the UK and improving their employability; we look forward to doing so for Indian youngsters too. What makes us special is our experience and competitive fees which has to be paid only once a learner lands himself/ herself a desired job. It is our attempt at making the learning process motivation and not a burden,” added Shwetank.

The first batch that starts from August 12, 2021, will be Microsoft Cloud Engineering MCAP. It will be teaching cohorts in AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals and AZ 104 – Microsoft Azure Administrator.

Eligible candidates can apply to the first batch of MCAP by writing an online exam, available at https://www.millionlights.university/mcap. A merit list of the qualified candidates will be announced who can then attend the dynamic and intensive 8-week online training.

After the successful completion of the course, the cohorts are eligible for the recruitment process with the partner recruiter companies. Only upon successful placement of the candidate, the course fee has to be paid.
