Undisclosed investors from the US and China also participated in the round. The company said it will use the fresh funds to launch and grow new language content and also to reach out to a larger user base, especially in the Hindi belt.

Founded in 2017 by Mohammed Hisamuddin and Rahul Ramesh, Entri provides different types of learning content in vernacular or regional languages for job aspirants. It is the largest exam preparation platform for all Banking, SSC, Railway and State Level Public Service Commission in local languages. Started first in Kochi with Malayalam study content for Kerala PSC exams, Entri now offers coaching for 65 government exams in Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Hindi. Besides practice tests, the platform also offers other content for exam preparation, including videos, quizzes, and study cards.

Entri offers about 135 different learning courses. Besides test prep courses, it also offers spoken English via the five languages and upskilling courses on entrepreneurship. The startup claims to have 1.6 million users, adding around 7,000 new users every day.

Speaking about the company and its future plans, Mohammed Hisamuddin, Co-founder and CEO, Entri, told a leading tech business information website,

“There is no quality control of content in local languages which is why most of the test-takers depend on English content. The truth is, even though the exam might be in English, people prefer content in local languages.

“We are also adding up-skilling courses to our platform since only 2% end up getting a government job. With expansion of Hindi content, which is a large market, we plan on onboarding 10 million users in the next few months from 1.6 million at present,” he added.

Entri claims to provide the fastest route to get a job. It offers 1000s of video classes to help students learn concept quickly. The platform also enables students to practice what they learn and strengthen the concepts and improve on weak areas, with the help of flashcards and quizzes. It facilitates students to discuss their doubts with teachers and rank holders, and take unlimited mock exams with the same pattern of the real exams. Entri works with around 45 academic heads and experts who oversee the content generated by around 5,000 teachers.

Commenting on the investment, Arjun Malhotra, Partner at Good Capital, said in a released statement,

“Skills like Excel or project management shouldn’t require people to be proficient in English. Starting with the 100 million people who apply for government jobs every year, Entri is expanding the universe of employable candidates by skilling people in their own language – as it should be.”

Entri claims to have helped more than 10,00,000 students to pursue their dream job.
