The future of learning is mobile-first and bite-sized! Almost eight years ago, we saw Edtech giants, Udemy, Coursera and Udacity pioneer the first phase of disruption in education and learning. Digital Learning 1.0 was focused on digitizing content that was traditionally limited to face-to-face.

Fast forward to today, Gnowbe, a mobile, micro-learning platform is moving beyond the passive experience of reading, watching videos and articles (‘learn-by-knowing’) to ‘learn-by-doing’ where anyone can learn on-the-go while practicing what they learn.

In collaboration with one of Singapore’s top higher learning institutes, Temasek Polytechnic (TP), Gnowbe has launched the world’s first experiential mobile micro-learning library of more than 60 Micro-Learning Courses (MLCs) aimed at meeting the learning and up-skilling demands of busy professionals.

“The launch of MLCs is really a positive and bold step towards creating a culture of lifelong learning with innovative and sustainable solutions so that [anyone] can learn anytime, anywhere,” said Ms Low Yen Ling, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore.

Gnowbe has developed bite-sized MLCs on topics ranging from personal enrichment to professional development in relevant areas such as Business, Sales, Innovation and Life Skills. Each MLC comprises 10 to 20 sessions and every session can be completed in 10 minutes a day on the Gnowbe app or web. The learning is made experiential with video and audio resources that are blended with relevant articles, as well as interactive features such as quizzes and reflection sharing at the end of each lesson.

Designed based on the science of adult learning, Gnowbe’s platform gives users full control of their learning journey for a personalised, self-paced experience. Using their mobile phones, learners will be able to complete their MLCs during small pockets of time e.g., during their daily commute or while waiting in a queue. The best part is that learners earn a digital certificate upon completion.

The fees for the MLCs start from a discounted price of USD14.49. For the special launch period until 4 June 2018, Gnowbe is offering one free MLC to each learner to encourage the pursuit of lifelong learning anytime, anywhere. Learners can redeem a free MLC using the Promo Code: SKILLUP. The online course catalogue is available at https://www.gnowbe.com/learn/library.

“We are excited to be at the forefront of mobile learning to empower anyone, anywhere to learn on-the-go. The launch of MLCs has allowed us to extend access to quality content and a global learning community for all learners,” said Ms So-Young Kang, Founder and CEO, Gnowbe.

With the vision to transform learning by leveraging mobile technology, Gnowbe is partnering with leading industry experts and academic institutes globally to equip individuals and organisations with future-ready skills and create a workforce that is able to act and think critically & creatively to elevate them above the oncoming wave of workforce automation.
