LTE 2015 is expected to attract over 8,000 professionals working in or with the education sector in Hong Kong and from around the world to gather and learn about the latest developments in educational resources and technology.

Under the theme ‘Tomorrow’s Learning Today’, LTE 2015 will see keynote speeches delivered by world-renowned educators and scholars on hot educational topics, including eLearning, information technology (IT) in Education, 21st-century education development, curriculum policy, leadership, and inclusive education. In addition to keynote presentations and seminars, the 2015 Expo is also open for exhibitors around the world to showcase their innovations on educational resources and technology tailored for different stages of learning, course subjects, and needs in education.

On 12 November, 2015, HKEdCity and Diversified Communications jointly organised a media luncheon where guests shared their insights and details about this year’s LTE. Mr Victor Cheng, Executive Director of HKEdCity said, “We settled on year’s theme, ‘Tomorrow’s Learning Today,’ because this year’s Learning & Teaching Expo puts the emphasis on building a well-prepared learning and teaching environment for everyone to overcome their challenges and seize the opportunities in the 21st century. For educators to succeed in these endeavours, the collaboration between them and businesses in the private sector is essential.”

Mr Cheng continued, “We are pleased to once again work with Diversified Communications to host Asia’s signature education event – Learning and Teaching Expo 2015 – in Hong Kong and create a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, skills and best practices with regard to different aspects of education. We have an extensive list of educational topics to be covered in over 160 presentations, seminars and workshops, including a new session for the research on science and technology in eLearning by the tertiary sector to bridge primary and secondary education with tertiary education. As with previous editions of LTE, we also have a robust range of exhibitors coming to LTE 2015. We look forward to welcoming educators from around the world at this year’s show in December.”

Following Mr Cheng’s introduction, Mr Stuart Bailey, Managing Director of Diversified Communications Hong Kong, shared an overview of the exhibitors at LTE 2015. Mr Bailey said, “LTE 2015 will see more than 200 exhibition booths featuring exhibitors from Hong Kong, Australia, Italy, New Zealand, Singapore, United Kingdom, United States, showcasing more innovative products for every level of education, including ones designed for STEM and special needs education. Any school, reseller and distributor sourcing for resources, classroom supplies, physical education equipment and educational technology should not miss this year’s Expo.”

“We will be staging the Asian Inter-School Robotics Challenge at this year’s LTE, which is designed to test the ingenuity of students and their proficiency across STEM subjects, and vividly present this sustainable trend envisaged by the Hong Kong Education Bureau and the education community. We will also take the opportunity at LTE to auction off several pieces of paintings by winning students from the ‘How Education Changes Life’ charity drawing and painting contest. All proceeds will go directly to the charity organisation, Viva, for improving the lives of children in need,” added Mr Bailey.

Ms Frances Moffett-Kouadio, Trade Commissioner of UK Trade & Investment, said, “The Learning & Teaching Expos in the past have been phenomenal in attracting different businesses involved in education in Asia-Pacific to converge, collaborate and explore opportunities with their UK counterparts. We are pleased to be a part of LTE 2015 as the Special Supporting Organisation and continue to facilitate this conversation for a better, more collaborative future in education.”

This year’s LTE will include two new features – The 21st Century Classroom and SEN Theatre – to showcase innovative lessons and how technology is applied in different curriculums to connect teaching, learning and assessment. The sessions will also demonstrate how learning data can bring positive impacts and contribute to formulating future development plans for schools of all education stages.
