Archipel Academy, the Netherlands-based educational technology company, has recently announced that it has acquired Quofox GmbH, an online platform offering digital corporate learning solutions and exclusive enterprise services.

With this acquisition, Archipel Academy hopes to become the largest educational marketplace in the DACH area within the next two years. The deal underscores the company’s goals of providing “top-class” experiences while making a substantial social impact.

Launched in 2018, Archipel Academy believes in the power of learning and creativity. The platform offers a complete AI-powered learning suite to transform the learning and development environment. The startup makes the fragmented world of training not just accessible in one place but also more personal, impactful and cheaper. It considers what and how one wants to learn; it’s unlimited and tailored to each employee.

Archipel claims that over 2500 organisations use its all-in-one learning platform, which makes an increase in the number of bookings virtually guaranteed. It is used by more than 750,000 workers every day. Through its platform, one learning offer will gain visibility in various sectors, such as construction, finance, government and semi-government bodies, business and public services, and healthcare. The firm hopes to transform learning by supporting lifelong learning and ensuring that relevance and future preparation are always within grasp.

Speaking about the acquisition, Former CEO of Quofox and current MD of Archipel Academy in the DACH region, Nele Mletschkowsky, said:

We founded Quofox with the aim of creating a platform where millions of people and hundreds of companies worldwide can find everything they need for their individual, learner-centred development. Our concern is to give all people access to high-quality education and training to contribute to greater prosperity, equality, innovation, and growth in a digital world, society as a whole, and the economy.

Mletschkowsky added:

By joining forces with Archipel, we can make this a reality and establish ourselves as a strong partner for companies’ constantly growing learning and development needs.

Archipel Academy will work with Quofox to improve and broaden its services, which has an in-depth understanding of the DACH market. The acquisition will also strengthen the two businesses’ position in the market for learning and development solutions. The companies will maintain interchange and direct dialogue with all stakeholders as the new developments unfold.

Omar Fouab, CEO of Archipel Academy, commented:

Archipel Academy, a lifelong learning and innovation pioneer, is dedicated to maintaining a level playing field and fostering a significant global social impact. With the rapidly changing world due to digitalisation and automation, we envision keeping individuals, teams, and organisations fit for the future. The acquisition of Quofox represents a crucial stride towards this goal. Through our marketplace, we are making access to quality learning content possible, addressing the significant societal challenge of digitalisation and automation.

Quofox was founded in 2015 by Frank Mies, Bernhard König and Nele Mletschkowsky with the vision of establishing lifelong, self-directed learning and further education as a matter of course in the digital working world for people and companies, educational institutions and universities. The company offers a variety of courses and learning opportunities that can be tailored to the needs of organisations of various sizes. Headquartered in Berlin, the startup also provides gamification, social learning, and analytics to assist employers in tracking employee growth and engagement. It aims to make corporate training more effective, entertaining, and accessible for employees and enterprises.

In 2021, Archipel Academy had acquired Conclusion’s ‘Conclusion Learning Centers’ division. It also acquired Edubookers, a leading booking platform for training courses, last year in June.
