Adda247, India’s largest vernacular test prep platform, has announced that it has acquired Ahmedabad-based 3D experiential learning-based platform Veeksha for an undisclosed amount. With this acquisition, Adda247 aims to offer interactive learning modules to students to enable an in-depth understanding of concepts through better visualisations.

Veeksha will merge into Adda247 and complete vision synergies as a part of the deal.

Co-founded in 2021 by Gaurishankar Singh, Hariprasad Bommidi and Miral Songhela, Veeksha produces interactive 3D simulations and AR/VR learning modules for mathematics and science for new-age learners who prefer learning on digital devices. Its immersive and experiential learning modules are cross-platform and can be used by teachers and students. The startup aims to create a system where students can learn from virtual labs and experiential, gamified learning.

Speaking on the deal, Founder & CEO of Adda247, Anil Nagar, said:

We are working to scale up our AR/VR capabilities and offer the best learning to the students coming to our platform. With Veeksha, we plan to simplify complex concepts into simple 3D visualisations, virtual experiments, and explanatory videos, ultimately leading students to perform better.

With Veeksha, Adda247 wants to strengthen its position to cater to K-12 and JEE/NEET aspirants. The company said early data shows it has witnessed a more than 30% increase in engagement for the student cohort using 3D, AR, and VR experiential learning tools.

Co-founder of Veeksha, Gaurishankar Singh, added:

We are excited to introduce the expertise of Veeksha to all content consumers in the educational institution space. Adda247’s large user base, along with our ability to create 3D visualised content, can pave the way for exciting advancements in education with AR and VR.

Founded in 2016 by Nagar and Saurabh Bansal, Adda247 caters to more than 50 million users on its various platforms every month by providing online courses for more than 500 exams, including government job exam, UPSC, IIT JEE, NEET, CUET, et al. The platform offers comprehensive solutions for all learning needs, including – online live classes, on-demand video courses, mock tests, e-books, etc. The startup’s mission is to bring quality education to the masses by providing online courses for all major exams in more than ten regional languages in India.

In 2021, Adda247 had acquired the UPSC-focused EdTech platform StudyIQ Education. Last year in October, the firm raised $35 million in a funding round led by WestBridge Capital. The round also witnessed participation from Google as a new investor and existing investors such as Info Edge and Asha Impact.
