The partnership between Physics Wallah and Xylem Learning will leverage the exchange of technology and knowledge to enhance the learning experience for JEE and NEET aspirants in South India. They will now expand their reach to Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and other southern markets.

Speaking on the collaboration, Founder & CEO of Physics Wallah, Alakh Pandey, said in a statement:

This partnership with Xylem Learning fills me with immense excitement and pride. It not only aligns with our shared vision of providing quality education to all but also propels us closer to our strategic goal of becoming the leading education platform in South India.

Pandey added:

In three years, we will invest Rs 500 crore in propagating the brave and unique Xylem model of Hybrid Learning to other adjoining sister states – it is a special result-oriented learning plan that has impressed me. This will require robust team building, content development, technological innovation, expansion in other categories and hybrid centres. We will also look at mergers and acquisitions in the South.

Founded by a 26-year-old MBBS graduate Dr Ananthu S, Xylem Learning aims to establish India’s preferred academies of excellence for cracking competitive exams through innovative technologies, top-class faculties, one-to-one mentoring, in-house course materials and Q bank, and hybrid classrooms. The platform constantly endeavours to enhance its skills, knowledge and ability to impart quality education with state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure. The startup offers over three million students free classes through its 30 YouTube channels. In addition, it claims to have more than 1 lakh paid students across its various online courses and 30,000 students in its offline or hybrid centres located across Kerela’s five districts.

Xylem Learning also operates ten tuition centres and a school-integrated program across seven schools. It has also ventured into commerce and Kerela PSC test preparation and will continue expanding other categories.

Founder & CEO of Xylem Learning, Dr Ananthu S, commented:

We aim to achieve 300 crore revenue with 25% EBITDA in FY-24, up from 150 Crore in FY-23. Alakh Pandey’s vision perfectly aligns with ours, as we are both dedicated to making quality education accessible and affordable for students. By combining our efforts, we can significantly impact the lives of aspiring students preparing for NEET and JEE exams. The principles of affordability, trust, and the democratization of education drive this partnership.

The brainchild of Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari, Physics Wallah, started its journey in 2016 as a YouTube channel to coach JEE/ NEET aspirants. The platform now offers online courses and offline and hybrid coaching through its Vidyapeeth and Pathshalas across India. In June 2022, the company became India’s 101st unicorn after raising $100 million in its first round of funding from WestBridge Capital and GSV Ventures at a valuation of $1.1 billion.
