Newton School, an EdTech startup aiming to transform India into a global developer powerhouse through its highly personalized training platform, has recently launched an AI-powered coding tool named Newton AI CodeLens, marking a milestone in adopting learning with AI. According to the company, the newly launched tool is powered by advanced GPT-4 large language models and helps refine the coding skills of learners and developers. The tool aligns with Newton School’s goal of making high-quality technology education accessible to all by providing exposure to industry-engineered projects, soft skills, and placement assistance.

The field of generative AI is growing rapidly, and it has started to leave its mark on the software development process. Microsoft-owned GitHub has been working on its code-writing and generative AI software, GitHub Copilot, to help developers write code faster and more efficiently.

As part of the initiative, Newton AI CodeLens leverages advanced artificial intelligence algorithms to help students learn to code more effectively and efficiently. The tool uses natural language processing to explain complex programming questions clearly, providing real-time benefits such as concept visualization, debugging support, and syntax hints.

CodeLens, which caters to the needs of learners outside of the classroom, aids in automated learning and practical application. Anyone, including non-students and learners, can access the tool for practicing and refining coding while learning its implications. One can do that by signing in to the Newton School’s website and using the ‘Question of the Day’ feature free of cost.

Speaking about the latest development, Co-founder of Newton School, Nishant Chandra, said:

Newton AI CodeLens has been devised to assist individuals, regardless of their programming expertise, in comprehending coding concepts and establishing a solid foundation in programming.

CodeLens supports many programming languages, including popular ones like Python, Java, and C++. It is a versatile tool that can be used for various purposes, such as web development, data analysis, and machine learning projects. It also fosters community sharing within the Newton School platform, allowing programmers worldwide to connect, collaborate, and share their programming knowledge and experiences.

Co-founded by serial entrepreneurs and college friends Nishant Chandra and Siddharth Maheshwari in 2019, Newton School focuses on skill development for graduates and professionals, concentrating on placement in tech companies. The platform offers live classes, industry projects, mock interviews, and personal mentoring for candidates. It builds a futuristic online university to provide millions of students with a highly immersive and interactive learning path and enable them to tap into new-age tech opportunities. The Bengaluru-based startup claims that it has placed over 2,500 aspirants in over 800 companies, including Google, Target, Epsilon, Jio, Lenskart, Razorpay, Flipkart, Zomato, Deloitte, and Meesho.

In August 2022, Newton School raised $24.7 million in its Series B funding round led by new investor Steadview Capital. RTP Global, SAMA Trust, and Nexus Partners also participated in this round.
