EdTech startup Skill-Lync has announced its partnership with CORDOBA to upskill professionals in automotive embedded software development.

The partnership will provide the students with a unique opportunity for potential applicants to gain first-hand experience with AUTOSAR and their own MATLAB licenses, said a statement. An extension of Skill-Lync’s existing partnership with Mathworks, the partnership will grant candidates the chance to be certified by Mathworks while they operate on their own MATLAB licenses, added the statement.

The program aims to bridge the industry skill gap by providing experienced professionals with the specific skill sets that the industry demands, especially in the automotive space. With the rise of electric vehicles and advancements in automotive technology, the need for skilled embedded software engineers has increased significantly, and this program is designed to equip candidates with the necessary skills to stand out in a competitive job market.

Commenting on the program, Suryanarayanan PaneerSelvam, Co-founder and CEO of Skill-Lync, said,

The success of the industry is greatly dependent on having the right professionals who are knowledgeable in the latest technologies to spur innovation and development. Skill-Lync’s unique program for advanced embedded development is a step in the right direction to address the need for specialized talent, and we eagerly anticipate the effect it will have on the market.

The 22-week live program is designed for experienced professionals in the automotive industry who want to upskill in advanced embedded software development concepts such as C/C++, CAN and UDS, Multicore Microcontroller Programming, AUTOSAR, Model-based Development using MATLAB and Simulink, and Functional Safety. It includes 6 modules where candidates will have the opportunity to work on 5 industry-relevant live projects and receive a co-branded certificate from NSDC and Skill-Lync upon completion, as well as the option to obtain an IEEE Certification.

Adding further about the program, Rohan Kochar, Business head at Skill-Lync, said,

Our executive embedded program is designed to act as a significant catalyst for our candidates’ professional journey, with a focus to help support specific industry skill requirements and supporting our learners to become the engineering leaders of tomorrow.

These developments come in the wake of Global Market Insights’ prediction that the Automotive Operating Systems Market would experience a CAGR of over 10% by 2030. Moreover, the Asia Pacific region is projected to have the fastest-growing market for automotive software, with a CAGR of 20.4% from 2020 to 2025.

The program offers maximum flexibility for candidates, with options to choose a construct and services best suited to their needs, including job assistance, an upskilling-focused package, and individual modules. The program is a result of close collaboration with corporate hiring partners to meet the industry demand for advanced embedded skills, particularly in the automotive sector. It aims to equip candidates with the necessary skills to take up high-value roles in the embedded domain.

Skill-Lync was launched in April 2015 by Suryanarayanan PaneerSelvam and Sarangarajan V to address the lack of quality and application-based learning in the Indian engineering education system. It is currently focused on providing students with two different models – 6-12 month post-graduate courses focused on providing in-depth industry-relevant technical knowledge to students along with a strong portfolio of projects that are aimed to help them get relevant jobs, and 6-month programs at physical skill-centers, where the students are provided with access to hands-on practical experience with relevant hardware and software from the experts – available both online and offline.
