Employ Recruitment, the Uttoxeter-based firm offering a safe, seamless and efficient service in logistics recruitment through a pro-active, solution-focused approach, has acquired Drivers Relief!, a professional driver recruitment company. However, the company did not disclose the financial details of the transaction.

Following the acquisition, the Drivers Relief team, including current managing director Jamie Stamp, will remain within the business.

Founded in 1987, Drivers Relief offers drivers for customers across the UK. Since its inception, the company has supported clients in Andover, Amesbury and Salisbury with their supply driver needs. The platform’s lorry driving jobs include long-distance driving, multi-drop work, Hiab work, ADR work, and other LGV driving work. It also provides one with a uniform and brief full on every assignment an individual is sent on.

Employ and Drivers Relief each use Driver Recruitment Software (DRS) which manages temporary driver recruitment with all legislation built in, ensuring 100% compliance to manage such things as Working Time Directive and EU Drivers’ Hours.

Commenting on the deal, Founder of Drivers Relief, Fiona Stamp, said:

This acquisition reaffirms our commitment to supporting the safety of our drivers, which in turn reduces accidents and infringement rates for our clients. It also strengthens Employ’s national logistics recruitment coverage, increasing client numbers and driver jobs.

Stamp added:

After 35 years, I’m delighted that Drivers Relief! will now be part of Employ Recruitment. We share the same focus on working with our drivers as individuals and ensuring that our customers receive the best care, service and compliance. Our family business is now part of a larger company which brings strength and new opportunities for the future. I’m looking forward to retirement, knowing that customers and drivers will enjoy a bright future.

Employ Recruitment aims to be a nationwide leader in logistics recruitment whose innovation secures safety, consistency and solutions for mutual benefit. The company serves as an underpinning compass that guides its everyday decisions, communication and behaviours in all that it does day-to-day to exceed expectations. The startup ensures it meets compliance standards, maintains transparency in its actions and makes decisions with a moral compass that benefits all parties. It develops processes, progresses people, and invests in technology to be efficient, faultless and economical.

Leann Lewis, Director of Employ Operations Director, added:

I am delighted with the acquisition of a trusted brand like Drivers Relief! whose business values closely match that of Employs. As we both put compliance at the forefront of what we do, it’s a perfect match for both companies strategically, culturally, and geographically. In addition, Drivers Relief! has a proven track record of looking after their drivers, which is perfect for Employ. We have always supported our drivers, including aspects such as their well-being.

As part of the acquisition, Knights PLC provided legal advice to Employ Recruitment UK, with Genesis Legal Services supporting Drivers Relief!
