TextKernel, an Amsterdam-based powered recruitment software company, has acquired Joboti, a candidate engagement tech provider, for an undisclosed sum. With this acquisition, Joboti and Textkernel bring two innovative organizations with a shared vision for providing automated and scalable solutions for recruiters and recruitment professionals.

Textkernel’s advanced parsing and matching technology, combined with Joboti’s innovative automated candidate engagement technology, creates a powerful platform for recruiters to find and engage the right candidates with minimal effort.

Founded in 2001 by Gerard Mulder and Jakub Zavrel,, TextKernel works with companies across multiple industries delivering multilingual parsing, semantic search and match, and labor market intelligence solutions. Its solutions include CV parsing and matching, labor market analytics, semantic search, sourcing tools, and a mid-office application for the staffing industry. The platform has over 2,500 HR and staffing organizations worldwide to bring the latest artificial intelligence technology to its customers’ fingertips.

Speaking about the acquisition, Chief Executive Officer of Textkernel, Gerard Mulder, said:

Joboti’s automated candidate engagement technology perfectly complements our AI-driven recruitment solutions. By integrating Joboti’s functionality, we can offer our customers a computerized recruitment solution that allows recruiters to focus more on the customer experience and place the candidate faster. This will significantly increase their efficiency, reduce costs and save them valuable time.

With Joboti’s technology integrated into Textkernel’s AI-powered employment solutions, recruiters can manage communication processes in the hiring process, such as job notifications, GDPR checks, pre-screenings, interview scheduling, and feedback messages.

Luuk van Neerven, Founder & CEO of Joboti, added:

The strategic combination with Textkernel is a great move for Joboti. We are excited to be part of a leading provider of AI solutions and to tap new markets for our candidate engagement technology. Together, we can develop even more unique and innovative recruitment solutions.

Joboti, started in 2016 by Luuk van Neerven and Stephan Kockelkoren, is a specialized automated candidate interaction technology supplier. It helps enhance the employment process, increase the efficiency of HR professionals and recruiters, and lower their workload. The company currently has over 200 customers with integrations into leading ATS and Candidate CRM applications across the Benelux, UK and North America. And since the software supports many languages, the latest deal will help Joboti to benefit from the global presence of Textkernel and expand faster into new countries.

Textkernal is backed by Main Capital Partners, a leading software investor in Benelux, DACH and the Nordics. Main Capital has over €2.2B AUM and has already backed more than 120 software companies. It employs 60 people and has offices in The Hague, Stockholm, and Düsseldorf: Antwerp and an affiliate office in Boston.

In December 2021, Textkernel acquired US-based AI company Sovren to expand its business across North America and the Asia Pacific. According to a report, the deal was valued between €30 million to €40 million.
