Aussie EdTech unicorn Go1 has announced that it has acquired Anders Pink, an award-winning content curation provider based in the UK, to provide best-in-class learning content curation capability for learners.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

“The massive proliferation of digital content designed to close skill gaps has illustrated the critical role that curation plays in achieving individuals’ learning goals,” said Andrew Barnes, CEO of Go1, in his announcement of the acquisition. “Anders Pink was built to directly support the demand for the curation of content assets from multiple content libraries and the web, by creating targeted feeds of content on the topics and skills you want to track, keeping up to date in your learning platforms automatically.”

Founded in 2014 by Stephen Walsh, Steve Rayson, and Jake Salmon, Anders Pink uses artificial intelligence to curate learning content and tailor programs to the needs of teams – removing the hassle of manual curation that other platforms rely on. It partners with multiple learning platforms, learning management system providers, including Go1, Degreed, Docebo, D2L Brightspace, Fuse and Totara to make automated recommendations to users on what to study next to improve their job skills.

Anders Pink has around 1 million learners using its platform, with a client base that includes Spotify, Scania, and Hitachi.

Commenting on the development, Go1 CEO Andrew Barnes said,

The acquisition accelerates our ability to deliver and discover the world’s best learning content for individuals, teams and organisations, helping them achieve their learning goals. Go1’s vision is to engage a billion learners and this represents an important milestone on this journey.

According to Anders Pink Managing Director Michelle Hazelton, the two companies have a shared purpose.

Go1 and Anders Pink have a shared purpose to curate the world’s best learning content, in any learning platform, for the world’s leading organizations. Through the acquisition, we are gaining the ability to drive greater market impact at significant scale.

Together, Go1 and Anders Pink will provide a library of learning content served in curated, automated, and focused feeds to help teams and organisations achieve their specific learning goals.

It was a busy year for Go1, which doubled its valuation to over $2 billion after a $100 million raise last June.

The Brisbane-based EdTech unicorn has now raised around $400 million to date. It previously raised $200 million in a Series D funding round in July 2021 led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2, AirTree Ventures, and Salesforce Ventures. In 2022, the company signed more than 65 partnerships globally, reaching nearly 10 million learners.
