The google store offers a plethora of learning aids, and you’ll always find that one YouTube video that’ll solve all your problems.
With Google Chrome being the most common internet browser as of August 2022 (with a global market share of 65.52 per cent), Students get access to many add-ons and extensions that can amplify their learning and help them regulate study time efficiently. These chrome extensions for studying are a great fit as they’ll help students in various spheres, and I’m sure you’ll find some of these tools very useful for the challenge you’re facing with digital teaching-learning.

Here are some of the best google chrome extensions for students to have on their chrome.

Kami – PDF And Document Annotation

Kami is a markup tool that allows users to annotate and collaborate easily. The extension enables students to edit and enhance any document and turn it into an interactive learning space. Students can add an engagement factor to their group discussions, collaborate with their peers or individually make their learning journey fun and engaging.

    – Advanced tools for studying, such as voice-typing and text-to-speech converters making it ideal for students with limited abilities.
    – Works equally well on scanned pdfs, which are often uneditable.

Clockify — Time Management Tool

Clockify is a time-tracking extension that’ll help you manage screen time in totality and the time spent on various activities. This time tracking extension helps you manage your time on various activities and takes care of you by alarming you about your continuous sitting in front of the screen. You can manually input the time for a particular task or use the timer feature before you start the task. The tool also helps if you’re facing focus struggles as you can toggle “on” the idle detection, which will keep track of time when you’re not at the task. . It gives you more control over how you organise your time.

  • Key features:
    – Can be integrated with over 50 websites to manage the time you spend on them.
    – Sync data across multiple devices and get precise details on time expenditure per task.

Dualless — Browser Splitter

Having two screens allow people to do more. Many multitaskers use two or more screens for their work. However, being a student might come with restrictions, dependencies and challenges. So, if you’re someone who does not have two screens but wants to work in a dual setup, this is the extension for you. Dualless allows you to split your browser into two separate windows. You can set the ratios of individual windows as per your liking. For instance, you can use the extension while making notes from a text you’re reading. Using the extension eliminates the need to switch from one window to the other, and you can easily make notes simultaneously.

Session Buddy —Browser Tab Manager

Session Buddy simplifies tab and bookmark management, allowing users to take control and track web sessions easily. Session buddy is a browser tab manager that allows you to avoid clutter by managing and saving tab collections. You can recover tabs in case your system crashes or accidental browser close. Auto Highlight — Text Highlighter

This is an extremely useful extension for students who need to work on projects and academics that require lot of reading and information filtration. The extension helps by automatically highlighting important phrases, quotations, pointers and passages in online articles. The extension eradicates the hassle of reading and re-reading multiple pages and saves you time as you work on your research projects.

  • Key features:
    – The extension restricts the scope by reducing the ink in the highlighter icon as you click on a page. This means you cannot highlight too much text restricting you to only the important areas. Thus, serving the purpose of highlighting.
