It can bring varied elements like drama, pace, suspense, excitement, relatability, connectivity, and more to the content. Many times, audio can help students remember the content. Also, audio integration adds to the accessibility of the content. However, what matters is how you incorporate audio into your content. Wrong audio placement will sink your content instead of sing!

Here, we've covered some innovative ways to use audio to spark things and engage students thoroughly in eLearning.

Use audio to explain and engage students in complex concepts

Audios work best with diagrams, graphics, and complex concepts. Integrating audio will help engage students and add a fun element to it if you're working on a difficult concept. Students will benefit from audio along with imagery if the option fits. For instance, if you are conducting an online workshop or event that requires the learner to follow the process of repairing a device, you can offer a detailed narration along with pictures/video that'd explain each step comprehensively.

Storytelling

People love stories. It engages them, captures their interest for a long and enhances their learning experience. Storytelling is an art, and using audio input to provide an enriching experience to students can improve their learning journey. Using audio to immerse learners through storytelling can work wonders. Consider adding complementing photo books and illustrated animations along with it. Also, you can use real voice audio to provide an authentic learning experience. Assessment

Assessments are a challenging part of education. They're often looked over. However, there are many ways to make assessments fun instead of something to be avoided or feared upon. Consider asking students to create an audio presentation to assess their knowledge. Ask your students to record audio presentations based on how much they know about a subject topic or at the end of a particular module to showcase their learning. This can be done as a narrated presentation or something more innovative, such as a group collaboration project requiring all students to record a real-life scenario based on the concepts they've learned. This will help you gauge their learning progress and engage them in something unusual. Also, read the Best Ways To Do Assessment In Virtual Classrooms

Hire Voice-Over Artists for Personalisation

If you're looking to make content that looks professional and personalised, consider hiring voice-over artists that'd add the element of specification and personalisation and aid in giving a professional edge to your eLearning courses. How? They'll help you create personalised narrations, descriptions and sort of audios that students can access only through your course. This extra effort will make your course look polished and give you an edge over other competitors' courses. You can find voice-over artists from freelancing sites easily.

Add Creativity through customised songs

Be creative and write a narration, poem or rhyme that captures your learners' interest. It can be related to your course or added to that segment break you provide. You can use free audio creation tools from plenty that are easily available, like Wavepad, Ardour or any other you want. These audios can be informative and complement your learning content or encourage learners to stick around the course.

Some Basic Tips To Stick To:

  • Provide Audio Control To Learners

If you integrate audio into your course, ensure learners have the ability to adjust the volume, pace or mute the narration altogether. While it might be great for some learners, there would be learners who won't prefer it. Learners have different learning styles and different learning environments. Giving control over audio playback would help them have better ownership over their learning experience. For instance, learners accessing the course in a public place may want to adjust the volume and pace.
  • Be Vary Of The Right Tone, And Jargon

The audios you will use in your deliverables must be age-appropriate, have the right kind of jargon and vocabulary (consider adding vocab pop-ups if you're going to use unusual terms), and be in sync with what you're trying to convey. The audience should be able to comprehend the audio easily, and do add complementary material if you feel they might need help to understand the audio. Consider setting the pace appropriately, just right enough to engage the learner and keep them on track thoroughly.
  • Make Sure Sound Quality Is Good

Scalable social media usage has made it okay for people to handle lower-quality audio comfortably. Please stick to the basic quality standards and ensure that you meet them. It's completely fine to record the audio on your smartphone, but use the web tools to enrich the quality of it. Find a quiet space and avoid background fuzz and indecipherable voices as your record. Ensure your audio quality is consistent throughout, and do not forget to do a final check before adding it to the course. How do you integrate audio into learning?
