Despite the enormous resource base on the web, educators prefer creating personalized learning material that’ll address their students learning needs. One of the critical challenges educators face is the creation of online resources and teaching material for students' microlearning needs.

Digital tools can help educators create engaging and interactive microlearning content to help students and teachers with their learning and teaching needs.

Here’s a list of top tools that educators can use to create bite-size microlearning content, easy and quick!

Venngage - Infographics

Infographics are great to help students understand complex and huge information easily. It allows students to grasp information in one glance and is ideal when teachers have to explain any process or subject topic requiring an order. Infographics usually contain information relating to a particular topic in one large appealing image. Mainly infographic includes the essential facts or steps of one specific process. For instance, infographics are great for summarising a survey, listing down steps for a science experiment, etc.

Using infographics to teach students lessons could help teachers engage them and provide quick revision study material. Venngage offers an extensive library of free and premium templates where teachers would easily find the fit for their varied needs. This makes it possible for educators to make an infographic and create micro-learning content for students.

Explain Everything

The tool is a digital whiteboard with a twist. Explain Everything is ideal for creating video content of 5 minutes to help students learn and revise in a short time. The tool allows users to create short 5 minute lessons through presentations, audio input, and drawing on the screen. Teachers can create shot and crisp explainer videos by adding their slides, record audio to explain critical concepts or even give handwritten instructions on screen while recording everything into a 5-minute quick lesson.

Explain Everything is an interactive screencasting whiteboard allowing educators to make a presentation and record everything you are drawing and saying and creating microlearning content. Teachers can easily record everything within the app and produce high quality, creative, meaningful, and engaging content students can learn from.

Canva

Many educators use social media to share resources and stay in touch with their students. Canva is the tool for educators using social media for their teach9ng needs. Canva allows you to create social media graphics like content, presentations, compelling images, and many other types of content as you desire.

The tool is very easy to use as it offers a quick search for suitable images and icons along with other critical elements like grids, frames, shapes, lines and charts. This feature allows educators to create informative photos, short and crisp pieces of learning for students. Teachers can also add a free image from another website to their presentation on Canva. It’s the ideal tool to create bite-sized learning content as you can easily create infographics, slideshows, keyword cards, etc., to make visual microlessons.

The tool also has an extension curated explicitly for the education industry, i.e., Canva for Education. It is a premium version of Canva, tailored to the classroom needs. The tool is completely free for eligible K12 teachers and their students. It offers all the premium features, including millions of images, fonts, graphics, videos, animations, and educational templates. This specialized extension for education also provides a dedicated classroom space to invite students and teachers to share, review, and manage your work, helping in community building. Canva for education also integrates with all essential classroom tools like Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, Remind, Canvas, Schoology, and more being added to the list. However, all educators need to verify their teaching credentials to access Canva for Education. This could be an issue for independent educators, but still, you can manage with the OG Canva easily.

The tool also allows you even to add a quiz and embed discussions, and TES Teach will track your students’ responses!

The created lesson can be shared with students via a unique link, Google Classroom, Facebook, Twitter, email, QR code, or embed the lesson on your own website. The lesson created almost feels like a playlist where students can navigate the order as designed or select parts of the lesson.
