The round was participated by Viet Capital Ventures (VCV) and Singapore-based family office Nullabor. The startup said that it will use the funds to grow its learning centers.

Founded in 2011 by Tony Ngo (Harvard Business School and Stanford University) and Don Le (Stanford University), Everest Education aims to transform education in Vietnam by personalizing learning and preparing students academically and mentally for an international education. The startup helps students enter into overseas education programs and succeed in international academic environments using technology and learning centers.

Everest Education has developed its own classroom management software and courses with a blended learning approach (Seamless and personalized online and offline learning). It offers Math and English enrichment courses, as well as tutoring to students from Grade 1 to Grade 12. The startup also offers English, STEAM, and design thinking camps through its network of partner schools.

Speaking about Everest and its being part of Vietnam’s vibrant growth equity space, Henry Lee, managing partner at Hendale Capital, said in a statement,

“Everest has the potential to make a significant impact in the rapidly expanding supplemental education space in Vietnam.”

“We are committed to being a part of Vietnam’s vibrant growth equity space and see education as a critical element in the country’s continuous economic development.”

Everest Education’s programs ensure every student have classes at the right age, the right level, and with the right peers. The startup couples technology with hands-on activities to engage every student at his/her level. Its methods are designed by Harvard and Stanford graduates and teachers graduated from top universities around the world. With an international academic environment, Everest Education enables students to develop critical thinking and presentation skills in a native English-speaking and learning environment.

Everest’s students have been accepted to top colleges and boarding schools, including Fairmont Preparatory Academy, The Hill School, Berkeley University of California, University of Pennsylvania, and University of Washington, to name a few. The company currently operates seven learning centers in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

No more a student, but love to learn. Not a teacher, but care about how students are taught. Not an educator, but want everyone to be educated. Not a social worker, but desire to see change. Not a reformer, but always want to see a better world. The author believes that only sound education can bring a better future, better world and technology can help achieve a lot in this field.
