The concept of project-based learning was first coined in early 90s by John Dewey. Today, a lot of schools are implementing project-based learning as an important pedagogy.

The theory of PBL is based on learn by doing. Students face real world problems through projects and see challenges that they have to face in the real and professional world. They learn by doing; capturing real-world problem which provokes critical thinking and development of real-life skills. It not just benefits students but also teachers; they get new roles as facilitators, frame meaningful tasks and questions and carefully assessed what students have learned through these experiences.

Technology plays a great role in accomplishment of the projects; students use different types of platforms and model for project-based learning. VR Quest is one such fun project- based learning model.

Building Skills for life with VR Quest

VR Quest is an educational project-based learning that incorporates full immersive Virtual Reality Technology in labs. It offers real-life skill training via complete projects in history, science and social studies.  Every VR Quest project possess specific content, as the project unfolds, a number of other disciplines and subjects are laced together to give challenging and rich experience to students.

Campers of VR Quest and students work together and create Virtual Reality multimedia atmosphere. They develop same interest and become an important part of production, as well as participate in challenges that are associated to their own lives.

Creating virtual world enables students to develop various skills in many areas like art, 3-D animation, storytelling, reading, computer literacy, problem solving. They also develop critical thinking, teamwork and many other skills for life.

Goals and Accomplishments with VRQuest

Projects at VRQuest enable students to develop and strength critical thinking and problem solving attitude. Students create 3D environment using state-of-art software packages, and in this process, they develop marketable skills that are high in demand in today’s world. Projects at VRQuest are full of fun and also strength math and reading skills in learners.

Implementing project-based learning in curriculum makes study interesting. Learner’s knowledge becomes relevant as they face the real-world challenge. PBL is the most powerful way to engage learners and challenge them to face difficult situation with positive energy. And of course platforms like VRQuest are very much useful in applying project-based learning.
