In an endeavor to celebrate the youthfulness of the young scholars and experience their innovation and talent, Genesis Global School, a premier day-cum-residential school in Noida, hosted the second edition of LANDMARK – a cultural extravaganza in its premises on August 04, 2014, New Delhi.

The plethora of activities at LANDMARK is going to unfurl the creativity of every child who ‘Aspires to Inspire’. Being an inter – school competition, it witnessed participation from a total of 18 schools, belonging to Delhi and other areas. Aitchison College, Lahore, Mayo College Girl’s School, Ajmer, The Punjab Public School, Nabha, Yadavindra Public School , Mohali, Delhi Public School, Noida, Kothari International School, Noida, Scindia School, Gwalior, Lotus Valley International School and Alchon Public School, Delhi to name a few.

The competition showcased a healthy spirit of students actively participating in music, art and literature. With the motive of promoting inclusive education, a hallmark of the educational philosophy at Genesis Global School, a special non-competitive event for the special needs children was also organized wherein they had put up a dance and a music performance.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pramod Sharma, Principal, Genesis Global School said, “We believe that a harmonious blend of the academic and the co-curricular adds panache to the personality of students. ‘LANDMARK’, which is organized every year is an effort conceived with the same thought that our students will truly be scholars only when they are well versed with music, art and literature”.

Adding to the thought, Mr. Vivek Pant, Dean- Academics at Genesis Global School, who is also the convener of the event said that “This three day celebration will help in spreading awareness around the importance of creating global citizens of tomorrow, and inculcating in them a healthy spirit of competition,”

The presence of Mr Muzaffar Ali, a renowned Indian Film maker, as the chief guest, exemplified the essence and spirit of LANDMARK.  His array of interests range from poetry, music, painting and drama to costumes and Sufism. Mr. Ali’s illustrious career in film making claims of classics like Umrao Jaan and Gaman. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2005.

A polymath of creativity, Ali’s craft weaves through professions and geographical zones, from art to poetry to couture, from his birthplace Lucknow to the fashion capitals of the world. His fashion label Kotwara is an international couture brand made with thought of reviving the traditional craft of Awadh and blending styles from different parts of the country.
